Captain's Dinner

Image
We had a 3 man band play. The accordion reminded me of our heritage so we asked them to play a polka. Todd, Renie, Mike and I danced! It spurred others to dance too!

Views along our ride. Docked here for the night. Enjoyed walking around shopping and having a drink at an outdoor bar. Leaving Hvar town. City tour of Hvar Town. This is a place where the nuns commit their life to God and begin using their talents to make agave lace. Hvar View on our ride out of Hvar Town. Centuries of people and donkeys picking up and stacking rocks so that they could use the land. Lynn and our guide, Jeleina coming. into our port town Jesla. Enjoying a drink after our ride from Stari Grad to Jelsa. Bikes parked and secured for the night.

Cycle the Korcula Coastline and Sail to Hvar!

Adriatic Sea PLUNGE. You won't see me in this pic! JOHN makes it look easy peasy as he paddles around our big ship! Finished with the ride.  Parking lot in front of Hvar. Boats, Boats & More Boats! HVAR! Yummy food at FIG. This is a chicken burrito with green chile sauce. The salad had some unusual greens with apples, candied bacon & blue cheese. Just what I needed. I think Mike was happy with his hamburger and French fries! We all needed a break from the healthy Mediterranean diet!

Cycle the Peljesac Peninsula/Donkey Farm/Wine Tasting

Image
We didn't encounter any wild boars! John says it would be A LOT of work to grow grapes here! Lovely ride today! Bored...John & Erin know way too much about winemaking. Stopped at the "donkey preserve." In the old days, donkeys were needed for labor, not so much anymore! They have a place to stay in retirement!

Cycle to Korcula Island

The country side. Lunch at the family owned restaurant. Stopped for a traditional Croatian lunch at this family owned Konoica restaurant. We had homemade Ustipci bread and Peka, which is meat, potatoes and vegetables slow cooked under a cast iron dome baking dish. Here the owner demonstrates the cooking techniqe.  We had pork, chicken, lamb, potatoes and vegetables. The lamb was cooked in it's own pan as to not transfer the flavor of lamb into the other foods.  Several vineyards along the route.  Made it to Korcula, known as the little Dubrovnik.  Luckily, the staff takes care of all of the bikes. John & Erin found a place for pizza! Climbing to the rooftop bar! Onward to the rooftop bar! They had great view of our ship from the rooftop! We ate at this restaurant. It was delicious and FUN!  The staff was great. The chef cooked in the same room with us! Diane couldn't decide what size of beer she wanted and finally she said that she just wanted a little beer....
